Hosted by the Yuba Sutter Veterans Stand Down Committee and hundreds of volunteers, this annual three day event, open to all veterans, is held each August in the Riverfront Park in Marysville, CA

The term 'stand down" comes from the Vietnam war where soldiers were given the opportunity to stand down from their stressful wartime duties in the field to get some hot food and a shower, maybe take care of some personal business or get medical treatment or other services that they couldn't get in the field.

The Yuba-Sutter Stand Down event offers the same opportunity to local veterans who may be experiencing difficult lifestyles and need a break or maybe need services normally not easily accessible to them.

In addition to being able to talk face to face with representatives of many government programs, nearly 75 other community service providers are on hand to assist veterans with their many needs.
